Texas House Concurrent Resolution 11
Directs the attorney general to try to recover money from the federal government for costs the state has incurred in dealing with illegal immigration and to demand federal enforcement of immigration laws.
Texas House of Representatives Bill 127
Requires state agencies to ask each recipient of services or benefits whether that person is in the United States illegally, unless prohibited by law. It also requires state agencies to report the cost of providing the services and benefits to those illegal aliens.
Texas House of Representatives Bills 104 and 141
These amend a law that allows immigrant students to pay in-state tuition at public universities to exclude anyone in the country illegally.
Texas House of Representatives House Bill 29
Would put 8% fee on money transfers between Texas and Mexico or Central and South America. Advantages: (1) fees go into funds to pay for indigent health care and (2) citizens and legal residents would get a refund from the state comptroller so only illegals would be paying this 8% fee.
Texas House of Representatives Bill 28
This bill is before the Texas State House of Representatives. It would bar anchor babies from receiving food stamps, health care or public housing and challenge the federal policy of granting U.S. citizenship to anchor babies.
